As I mentioned before, I've been getting leg cramps on both tights, back pain and pain while turning from side to side during sleeping and etc. I went to see the doctor last week as the cramp was so bad. And explained everything from A to Z. So he said, search for this on google Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD) and you will know the pain you're facing. Because all the pain I've been getting are actually related and the symptoms to this disease? Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD) is most commonly associated with pregnancy and childbirth. It is a condition that causes excessive movement of the pubic symphysis, either anterior or lateral, as well as associated pain, possibly because of a misalignment of the pelvis. SPD is a dysfunction that is associated with pelvic girdle pain
and the names are often used interchangeably. It is thought to affect
up to one in four pregnant women to varying degrees, with 7% of
sufferers continuing to experience serious symptoms postpartum. Although the condition was recognised by Hippocrates,
incidences of SPD appear to have increased in recent years; it is
unclear whether this is because the average maternal age is increasing,
or because the condition is being diagnosed more frequently.
The main symptom is usually pain or discomfort in the pelvic region.
This will probably be centred on the joint at the front of the pelvis
(the pubic symphysis). Some sufferers report being able to hear the
lower back and hip joints, the sacroiliac,
clicking or popping in and out as they walk or change position.
Sufferers frequently also experience pain in the lower back, hips,
groin, lower abdomen, and legs. The severity of the pain can range from
mild discomfort to extreme and prolonged suffering. There have been links between SPD and depression on account of the associated physical discomfort. Sufferers may walk with a characteristic waddling gait and have difficulty climbing stairs, problems with leg abduction and adduction, pain when carrying out weight bearing activities, difficulties carrying out everyday activities, and difficulties standing. Early diagnosis is crucial in order to minimize the medium to long term
severity of the condition, which can be disabling in its extreme form.
Unfortunately not all healthcare practitioners are sufficiently aware of
the condition. A diagnosis is usually made from the symptoms alone, although after pregnancy, MRI scans, x-rays and ultrasound scanning are sometimes used. Women initially report the condition to a midwife, obstetrician, general practitioner or physiotherapist. On seeing a health professional, women should expect to receive a thorough physical examination to rule out other lumbar spine problems, such as a prolapsed disc, urinary tract infections and Braxton Hicks contractions.
It is usually recommended that women with SPD give birth in an
upright position, with knees slightly apart, and it is often suggested
that a woman tie a ribbon to both legs to ensure that the gap never
exceeds her maximum comfort zone. Practices such as placing the feet on
the midwife's hips during delivery, stirrups, and interventions such as forceps
should be avoided in the delivery room if at all possible, as they can
strain ligaments further and cause long term problems. If stirrups must
be used, for example during suturing, great care must be taken to move the legs in symmetry, manoeuvering them gently into position.
Typical advice usually given to women includes avoiding strenuous
exercise, prolonged standing, vacuum cleaning, stretching exercises and
squatting. Women are also frequently advised to:
Brace the pelvic floor muscles before performing any activity which might cause pain
Rest the pelvis
Sit down for tasks where possible (e.g. preparing food, ironing, dressing)
Avoid lifting and carrying.
Avoid stepping over things.
Avoid straddle movements especially when weight bearing.
Bend the knees and keep the legs 'glued together' when turning in bed and getting in and out of bed.
Place a pillow between the legs when in bed or resting.
Avoid twisting movements of the body.
If the pain is very severe, using elbow crutches will help take the weight off the pelvis and assist with mobility. Alternatively, for more extreme cases a wheelchair may be considered advisable.
Haritu dah melantak Cadbury Bar Hazelnut (medium size) at one go. Sekali bukak wrap, tak berenti sampai abis satu bar hahaha
Now asyik duk makan Cadbury Zip (Chocolate) [sorry Grandma. we know its your fav]. Sekali bukak 1 pack of 6, sure habis. Lepas satu, satu. Sampai habis la sebungkus tu. So kena beli sebungkus2. Supaya takde la melantak berbungkus2 at one go kan hahaha psiko kan diri sendiri hahaha
The baby said, "Mama, Cadbury Chocolates are the best! Its so yummehhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" Memang punnnnnn!!! Rasa nikmat yang tak terkata bila makan any Cadbury Chocolate! Tu pasal leh abis banyak at one go hahahaha
I am actually eating Cadbury Zip Bar at the moment! Hahahaha
I've been having trouble sleeping since last week. Maybe its because the bump is getting bigger so its giving me weird pain at random places at all times. Firstly, the baby just keeps pressing on me bladder which makes me wanna go to the loo every 10 to 15 mins. Penat weh pergi toilet jek kalau keluar berjalan kat shopping mall waaaaa...and now another phase of weird pain hahahaa
As Phoebe (Friends) would say while she was pregnant with her brother's triplets:
"I can't sleep except on my back, which hurts! So I can't sleep!"
It's actually true! Bluerghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and the cramping keeps getting teruk and teruk-er! I have to keep putting on cramp cream every time nak tido or just to lay down warrghhhhhhh
I've been getting leg cramps every now and then lately. Sebab baby semakin membesar and its pressing on my bladder and cramping both of my leg.
Oleh itu, bila tidur (of cos la on my sides), sekejap je dah kebas2 kena tuka position to another side. And it goes on for the whole night and every night. Somehow, the cramp was getting worst last night but I can still sleep. Tiba2 pagi tadi, dah rasa kebas2 on my right leg nak cramp. Then I changed my position to another side (left side) to ease off the pain. Mula2 okay, suddenly getting teruk and nak cramp dah! I was like Oh Me God!
Terus kejut B, ckp kaki cramp cannot move and it hurts so bad! So kena lah urut2 sikit part yg nak cramp tu until the vein loosen up, baru lah boleh gerakkan kaki. But still in pain. It happened awal pagi tadi even before Subuh okay. So I was up as early as that until now.
Sampai office mengantuk warghhhhhhhhhh!!!! Ni pun I can still feel the pain and cramping a bit. Tho it doesn't hurt as much, tp boleh rasa lagi. Terus mak stress!!! Cramp pun boleh buat orang stress tau. Like me! Grrrr
Masa kejut B mengadu sakit and all, kena marah dulu sambil beliau urutkan tempat cramp tu. "Itu lah, pasang aircond lagi satu malam. Dah terlebih masuk angin dalam kaki tu sampai cramp"...waaaa kena marah..ia saya bersalah! Tapi I've always been in a hot temp (body temp not marah2 ok) since 7 months. So kalau tido tak pasang aircond, mmg menangis peluh satu malam :(
Yesterday (Tuesday - 13/11/2012 - Deepavali), B made breakfast in bed for me! Seronoks! Muahahaha
He made Sunny Side Up, 2 pieces of White Bread, 3 pieces of Sausages & a glass of cold Mango Yogurt drink. Sodap jack!!!!
Al-maklumlah..isterinya dah semakin membesar sangat. Bediri lama sikit kaki terus menaik bengkak and sakit pinggang menangkap sampai nak cramp. (alasan boleh pakai tak untuk jarang masak??) hahaha
But, the night before, I made a very healthy Nasi Goreng. Part healthy tu sebab guna Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Part tak healthy lagi banyak, sebab guna normal white rice, few pieces of sausages and eggs in the Nasi Goreng. I was super duper starving that night (Monday night) so cooked quite a lot for me and Aishah. Yes, kami berdua memang always lapar and nak makan je kat rumah tu hahaha as the thing happened at night, so B can't have any. He's actually on a strict diet that he put himself onto. So I'm just motivating him more to do so heeee Oleh yang demikian, simpankan lah Nasi Goreng tersebut a bit for him to eat utk breakfast beliau esok nya. He was actually so excited to taste some, (sebab katanya, "dah lama Ayang tak masak untuk B kan") alamak! Kantoiiii hahahaha so the next morning awal beliau bangun sebab excited nak panaskan the Nasi Goreng and taste it so at the same time, as a thank you tu yang masakkan breakfast in bed untuk isteri tersayanggggg hehehe
Dah kata breakfast in bed, lepas makan mestilah kenyang gila kan. Pastu tersandar lah balik diatas katil yang empuk tu. Sikit lagi nak sambung tido hahahaha
So sweet of you B! Esok cuti Awal Muharam, ada breakfast in bed lagi tak B? Ke lunch or dinner in bed pun boleh..I don't mind! Hahahaha
On Tuesday we received 2 visitors from Kookmin University, Korea. As the purpose of their visit was actually to come and see ME! Bangga gila! hahahaha As I was not in charge of International Visitors, I have to pass the information to MarComm. During the arrangement for the visit, MarComm Officer asked them what's their purpose of visit and any specific person they would like to meet or what not. And they actually mentioned, we just want to do a none formal visit to UPM and meet up with Mrs. Maisarah Roslan as she's been very helpful with us throughout these years.
Apabila orang MarComm tersebut called me up and said that, bertambah lagi bangga nya hahahaha terus diorang pun taktau nak arrange macam mana. At the end, they end up making a small none formal meeting with representative from Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Economics and Management (as their 2 students are based there this semester) and from Mobility Unit (which is me and my boss).
When I arrived at the meeting room, the 2 students pointed at me and told their officers, "That's Maisarah, the person we've been dealing with all these while". Then she gave me a smileeeeeeeeeeeee hehe tercapai juga hasrat beliau to meet me in person hahahaha
After the so called none formal discussion, its time for refreshment. Time makan, mereka terus menuju kearah the famous Maisarah ni kan hahahaha borak2 (mcm kawan lama tak jumpa lol) tanya itu ini, tibe2 beliau hulur hadiah secara tersorok dibelakang kerusi. Rupanya dia bawak n bagi hadiah just for me je in that meeting :D Deputy Dean pun tak dapat tau kahkahkah (belagak sekejap)...
We started our conversation about something (tak ingat dah, sorry mmg sangat teruk memory lost lately ni) and I told her that my mom is in Korea now. She's teaching at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. She then suddenly got excited and she my colleague (the other officer) graduated from there. And she called up her colleague and spoke in Korean. I'm sure she was saying that her mom is teaching at HUFS blablabla cause I heard she said.."Maisarah eommanim..blablabla" pastu of cos I got lost sebab paham eommanim je hahahahaha pastu tak pasal2 dua2 amik berkat pegang perut saya yang buncit ni..bak kata mereka, amik berkat katanya hahaha sbb they both got married the same time as I did (earlier this year) and still waiting for a baby...excited sangat abis sampai ke petang duk pegang2 perut saya amik berkat tak sudah hahahaha
Then we took them to visit the students dormitory at K2. They were very friendly and nice. They kept saying maybe you can come to Korea sometimes while your Mom is there and visit KMU at the same time. I just have to say "will do, maybe sometimes in the future"..nak jawab Inshallah, sure2 dia tak faham kan hehehe tapi dalam hati jawab, you would think we (kuli2) will be given the opportunity to go abroad just a visit to some partners universities huh?? Itu hanyalah berhak dibuat oleh the 'big one' sahaja!
Rupanya a Marble Jewellery Box. Gila cun! Takut nak guna so simpan balik dalam kotak lepas tengok and amik gamba hahaha and I thought they might have gotten the box elsewhere utk bagi hadiah semata2. Rupanya memang university diorang akan bagi such hadiah to visitors. Ada cop KMU lagi hokeh kat box tu. Kaya gila! Kalau tau leh mintak Korean Silk ke kan. Leh nak buat baju lepas bersalin nnt heeee
Ni la kotak hebat yang diperkatakan tu...
You seeeeeeeeeeee...very fancy and cute kan!! Sukaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! Hehehe
**Gambar bersama visitor akan diletakkan kemudia. Sebab kena ambil dari pegawai di FK yang amikkan gambar kami haritu
Sebenarnya harini adalah sangat takde mood nak buat apa2. Feel like taking a chill pill and chillex all day long. Just sitting there and watch some random thing on TV will do. Somehow I feel like my body need a really good break from everything. Just to fully rest and of course catch up on my beauty sleeps yang dah sekian lama tak dapat2 tu kan hahaha
Have been very super duper trooper busy these couple of days at work. Always a last minute instruction given by the big one and I have to get them done within like a minute though the work suppose to take forever! Ish bikin orang jadi cepat gila je tau!
So, when I dont get enough rest meaning that my baby bum bum haven't too. Kesian beliau hari2 teman Mama nya kerja and do this and that. Mama penat, dia lagi penat hokeh! Kalau dia penat sangat and nak marah, beliau akan kick and move around se-active yang boleh sampai Mama nya yang sakit balik. Konon tunjuk perasaan lah tu! Ceit!
Time takde mood harini la I've been given the 'honour' to finish up an MoU related proposal to be given to the 'big one' before her meeting later today, updated data on mobility students (urgently), Progress Report for Eurasia 2 Program to be given to the EU Coordinator by today and the list goes on...bluarghhhhhh
So siapa nak siapkan semua ni? Everything is like BY TODAY!!!! And the work was given to me the earliest was yesterday...Pandainyaaaaaaaaaa! Erghhhh ini pun take 5 from all the work and layan my malasness and masukkan lah satu blog entry untuk santapan Grandma hehehe
